BRATTLEBORO -- The Rev. Carra McFadden will lead worship at 10 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 30, at Centre Congregational Church in downtown Brattleboro. Her sermon title is "Risk-Taking Mission and Service" based on Luke 10:25-37. It is the fourth in the series on "The Five Practices of Fruitful Congregations."
The adult book study group will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. in the parlor. At 9:35 a.m. there is family worship in the chapel.
Special offering for the month will benefit the Brattleboro Area Drop-In Center and Brattleboro Area Affordable Housing. Kidz Club joins the congregation at the start of worship, then departs to the Christian education wing to enjoy music, drama, and games under the direction of Michael Mario, Christian education director.
The adult choir will sing under the leadership of Christian Huebner, music director. Fellowship hour follows and all are welcome.
On Tuesdays, Oct. 2 and Oct. 26, the church’s Peace and Justice Committee will sponsor a "Social Justice Film Series," offering a 2004 documentary that details the historical development of Corporate entities. The film will be shown at 6:30 p.m., preceded by a potluck supper and followed by small group discussions.
Moment for Peace will be held in the parlor from 5:30 to 6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 5. Tom Wessels, Professor of Ecology at Antioch University New England, will lead the meditation on "Peace and the Environment." He is also
