WALPOLE, N.H. -- The Rev. Telos Whitfield will conduct the service, "Humility -- Teachings of the East," on Sunday, Sept. 30, at 10 a.m. at the Walpole Unitarian Church on the corner of Main and Union streets.
"In the Native tradition, the direction of the East is led by the idea of humility and humbleness," the Rev. Whitfield said. "Richard Wagamese, author of ‘One Story, One Song,’ begins his series of stories and life journey here and we will explore what and how an attitude of humility can alter our daily lives and life direction."
The service will also honor St. Francis and the animal and creature kingdom.
The children’s spiritual work this year includes a curriculum designed to offer more knowledge and understanding of stories from the Hebrew Bible, New Testament, and stories from other faiths such as Buddhism and Islam.
All are welcome to attend and stay for refreshments and conversation following the service.
