BRATTLEBORO -- Worship service begins at 10 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 7, at First Baptist Church, 190 Main St., in Brattleboro. Children are welcome to participate until they recess to their Sunday school rooms.
Pastor Suzanne Andrews will lead the unison reading of Psalm 26. Her sermon will be from the Gospel of Mark, chapter 10:46-52, "Jesus Heals Blind Bartimaeus." Soloist will be Lura Jane Bacon.
During October, the church will makes a special effort to raise money for the support of the less fortunate, hungry, and homeless as winter approaches.
A Harvest Supper is planned for Saturday, Oct. 13, from 5 to 7 p.m. On the menu will be ham and scalloped potatoes with roasted vegetables, salads, and a variety of desserts. A donation of $9 per person is asked, with children 5 to 10 $5. Children under 5 are free.
The next event will be a rummage and bake sale on Saturday, Oct. 27.
