DUMMERSTON -- Worship at the Dummerston Congregational Church UCC in Dummerston Center on Sunday, Oct. 14, is at 9:30 a.m. with fellowship hour following. The Scripture for Sunday is Mark 10: 17-27, and the meditation focuses on the rich man’s essential question, "What Must I Do?"
Because of the Apple Pie Festival last weekend, the church will celebrate communion this Sunday. The Neighbors in Need Offering, the UCC national offering for relief of neighbors throughout the nation, will be taken. The Children’s Story is "David Becomes King" from II Samuel 5 and 8. Children begin in worship and then go to an open classroom.
The In-Gathering and Dedication of Pledges for the coming year will take place on Oct. 21. Pledge cards may be mailed to the church office or placed in the offering plate this week or next to be included in the Prayers of Dedication.
The church continues to collect food, personal care items and household supplies for the Drop-In Center. Donations may be left in the church entry.
There is a Contemplative Service of shared silence each Wednesday in the candlelit sanctuary from 6 to 7 p.m.
