DUMMERSTON -- Worship at the Dummerston Congregational Church on Sunday, Oct. 21, focuses on the Dedication of Pledges for the coming year. The Liturgy will include a Litany from the Congregational Church in 1948 and prayers by Anslem, Aquinas and Thomas Ken.
The scripture for the day is I Chronicles 29: 10-18, from the Prayer of Dedication by King David for gifts to build the first temple. The Sermon is "All This Abundance." The choir, under the direction of the Rev. Dr. Larrimore Crockett, will sing. The Children’s story is from II Samuel 9, the story of David and Mephiboseth, the orphaned son of Jonathan. Children begin in worship and go to an open classroom.
This evening the senior high youth group will take a trip to the Gaines Farm Haunted Maze and Hayride. New youth group officers are: Theresa Glabach, president; Jeff Kahler, vice president; Kiley Owen, communications secretary; and Skyla Harvey, social secretary. The group meets regularly on the second Thursday of the month from 6 to 8 p.m. and at other times for service and social activities. New members are welcome.
The DVD "Behind the Pie" made by Theresa Maggio is for sale for $10 after worship or by contacting the church office.
There will be a Transition Dummerston Potluck Dinner and Program at the church on Friday, Oct. 26, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Those attending area asked to bring a dish to share (local ingredients appreciated).

Monies raised will be used to help Dummerston residents with heating costs. Applications for assistance for Dummerston residents may be made through the town office or the Dummerston Cares Hotline at 802-257-5800.
The church is located in Dummerston Center. Worship begins at 9:30 a.m.
