BRATTLEBORO -- The Rev. Carra McFadden will lead worship at Centre Congregational Church at 10 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 28, which is All Saints’ Day. Her sermon topic is "Extravagant Generosity: Open Hearted Living," based on the sermon text from Luke 6:27-38. The adult choir will sing an anthem under the direction of Christian Huebner, Director of Music. Kidz Club will meet during worship, with Michael Mario, Director of Christian Education, and his volunteer teachers. The Noah’s Ark room will be painted by volunteers this Saturday.
October’s special offering is for Neighbors in Need, a special mission of the United Church of Christ supporting ministries of justice throughout the United States.
The monthly Moment for Peace will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 2, in the parlor, in conjunction with Gallery Walk downtown. For more information contact Dee and Bob Keller at 802-257-4588.
The adult book study group continues to meet prior to worship, at 9 a.m. in the parlor. Wednesday Bible Study group meets at 7 p.m. at the home of Gisela Robeck in West Brattleboro.
The Board for Mission and Service will once again participate in helping at the Overflow Shelter at First Baptist Church, 190 Main St., beginning with supper on Nov. 25 and continuing on the fourth Sunday of each month through March 2013. The next fundraiser will be the Holiday Craft Fair on Saturday, Nov. 17, featuring crafts for display and for sale by Centre Church vendors. The craft fair will be open to the public from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Santa’s Attic will have gently used items for sale. Children will have cookies to decorate, as well as arts and crafts.
