DUMMERSTON -- Worship at the Dummerston Congregational Church begins at 10 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 13. The scriptures are Psalm from Isaiah 40 and 43. The sermon is "Amazing Comfort," based in part on the book "Unbroken" by Laura Hillenbrand. Children begin in worship and then go to an open classroom.

The Children’s Story, "Jesus Grew" is from Luke 2: 40-52. Children will continue to learn more about their mission in Kenya. The choir, under the direction of Larry Crockett, will sing "Strengthen All the Weary Hands," text and music by Martie McMane; "Nothing Can Trouble," Taizé; "You Are Min" text and music by David Haas; and "Let the Wilderness Be Glad" by Martie McMane.

There will be a quarterly congregational meeting after worship to receive reports from boards and committees.

Tuesday the church will serve the meal at the Overflow Shelter. To donate or volunteer, call the church office. Non-perishable foods, toiletries, household item, blankets, tents and tarps for the Drop-In Center may be left in the church entry. A "Dove Board" with needed items for those living with HIV/AIDS is in the church entry. Items may be returned to the "Dove Basket."

A Contemplative Prayer Service is held in the sanctuary each Wednesday from 6 to 7 p.m. Dress warmly and join with others for a time of shared silence and deep peace.

The church is located in Dummerston Center, 1536 Middle Road.
