DUMMERSTON -- Worship at the Dummerston Congregational Church begins at 10 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 20. The Scriptures for this Sunday are from John 17 and Ephesians 2.
The sermon is "Sacred Conversations," including Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s quote, "Our goal is to create a beloved community and this will require a qualitative change in our souls as well as quantitative change in our lives."
The children’s story is based on Micah 6:8, Living Your Faith. Children begin in worship and then go to an open classroom.
Non-perishable foods, toiletries, household item, blankets, tents and tarps for the Drop-In Center may be left in the church entry. A "Dove Board" with needed items for those living with HIV/AIDS is in the church entry. Items may be returned to the "Dove Basket."
A Contemplative Prayer Service is held in the sanctuary each Wednesday from 6 from 7 p.m. Dress warmly and share in silence and deep peace.
The congregation will join with others on Monday, Jan. 21, at 7 p.m. at Centre Congregational Church for a Martin Luther King Jr.community service sponsored by the Brattleboro Interfaith Clergy Association.
The church is located in Dummerston Center, 1536 Middle Road. Dummerston Congregational Church UCC is a Green Justice Congregation of the United Church of Christ.
