SAXTONS RIVER -- The Rev. Roger Daly, pastor at Christ’s Church in Saxtons River, has announced the following services for February:
-- Sunday, Feb. 3, will be a Celebration of Holy Communion and a Sunday to reflect on Missions. The meditation will be "A World We Live In," based on Isaiah 61:1-4 and James 2:14-17. The question for reflection is " ‘Can the Heart of the Church’ be located somewhere between the church and the community."
-- Sunday, Feb. 10, Rev. Daly’s meditation will be "On the Day When We Sit Alone." The texts that the meditation is based on are Jeremiah 15:10-21 and John 16:31-33, which "offer us a message of hope."
-- Sunday, Feb. 17, is the first Sunday in Lent. Worship will consider the gift and power of forgiveness. Rev. Daly’s meditation will be "In a Dark Wood" and grounded in Genesis 45:1-15 and Luke 6:27-38. This will be a sequel to the Feb. 10 message.
-- Sunday, Feb. 24, the second Sunday in Lent, will focus on scripture from Luke 11:14-26 and will be "The Vacuum of Unbelief" and will address the possibilities of our awareness leading to a relationship with God in our lives.
A Lenten Series will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 13, and on Thursdays, Feb. 21, March 7, 14, and 21. The text that the series will be focused on is from the book "Can You Drink The Cup." For more detailed information, call the Church Office at 802-869-2340 and leave a message.
The Women’s Fellowship will be meeting on Thursday, Feb. 14, at noon in the Fellowship Room. Those attending should bring a sandwich. Drink and dessert will be provided. Elaine Bowen will present the program "Come Hear About Fanny Crosby."
