NEWFANE -- The First Congregational Church of Newfane will hold a service of dedication for the new addition to the church on Sunday, Feb. 24, during the regular worship service at 10 a.m. This addition is a culmination to many years of planning and for a capital campaign that was started about a year and a half ago.
The Rev. Robert Hamm’s meditation is titled "We Hear with Our Own Ears" with scripture from John 10:22-30. Hymns to be sung by the congregation are "The God of Abraham Praise," "God, Whose Giving Knows No Ending" and "The Church’s One Foundation." The choir will sing two spirituals, "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot" and "When the Saints Go Marching In."
The Newfane Community Handbell Choir will play the Doxology, "Old Hundred," and the postlude, "Jubilate Amen." The prelude, "Now Peace Abides," will be played by Martha LaMoria, organist/music director. Next Sunday, March 3, the sacrament of communion will be observed.
