DUMMERSTON -- There will be a Taizé service at the Dummerston Congregational Church in Dummerston Center at 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 17. This Lenten service of meditation features Taizé chants, beautiful four-part a cappella songs which are repeated over and over again. They have their origin in an ecumenical community in France and have become extremely popular in churches all over the world.
The service will consist primarily of chants, periods of silence and simple prayers. Candlelight will add to the ambiance of peaceful meditation. Those wishing to learn the chants will gather downstairs at 4 p.m. to rehearse. The service will be prepared and led by the Rev. Larrimore Crockett.
The church is located at 1535 Middle Road. For more information, contact susanna@griefen.com, 802-257-0544.
