ALSTEAD, N.H. -- There will be a townwide worship service on Millot Green as part of the sestercentennial celebration on Sunday, Aug. 11, at 10:30 a.m.
The service is being arranged by the Rev. David Moody, associate rector of the Anglican Church of the Good Shepherd in Charlestown, who lives in Alstead Center and is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Alstead Historical Society. It will represent different eras in the town’s history through hymns and scripture, with a variety of readers participating. As part of this service it is hoped that many will be a part of a volunteer, townwide choir. It will be helpful to be able to read music, but it is not a requirement. All voice parts are needed.
At this time a search has begun for a director, for which there will be a stipend. Anyone interested in directing the choir should contact Joanne Stevens at 603-835-6734.
Once a director is found, the music will be chosen and all volunteer choir members will be notified of the rehearsals.
