SAXTONS RIVER -- The Rev. Roger Daly’s mediation on Sunday, June 23, will be "Want a Neat Life?" based on Matthew 13:24-30, 36-43. Rev. Daly will examine the question, "how do we live faithfully and recognize the Kingdom of God in a ‘messy’ world?"
On Sunday, June 30, Rev. Daly’s meditation will be "Who are My Sisters and Brothers?" The focus will be on a story of the encounter in the "Upper Room" of ordinary human beings with the awesome love of God. Scripture selections are from Mark 23:28-35.
The Christ’s Church Blue Door Lunch Program began this past week in the church dining room. This program has provided a simple free lunch to children and families for whom extra summer meals may be a hardship. Jane Cook and her kitchen crew invite anyone, with or without need, adult and child, to come and enjoy a time to relax, eat lunch, and meet new friends. A large collection of books is available for children to take home and enjoy. The program is funded by donations from the UCC, the Women’s Fellowship and individuals wishing to contribute.
Christ’s Church members, friends, and Women’s Fellowship will be selling pies to benefit the church at the July 4th celebration in Saxtons River. There will be various pie sizes and prices. Christ’s Church is known for its excellent bakers and all are invited to visit the pie table early for a good selection.
Christ’s Church is handicapped accessible and all are welcome.
