BRATTLEBORO -- Centre Congregational Church in downtown Brattleboro has announced plans for Vacation Bible Camp, which will be held at the church from 4 to 8 p.m. from June 26 through 29.
The theme will be "God’s Neighborhood," with an exploration of relationships in the world through scripture, music, crafts, games and stories. For more information contact the Director of Christian Education, Michael Mario, at email@example.com. Camp attendees will create a neighborhood art mural which will be presented during worship on June 30.
Sunday worship on June 23 is at 10 a.m., led by the Rev. Carra McFadden. She will preach on "And It was Good," based on Genesis 1:26-31. During the service, Daniel Odhuno of Brattleboro and Heavenlight Mushi from Tanzania will join together in marriage. They met when Odhuno was in Kenya two years ago. Pastor McFadden will give the marriage the church’s blessing and the congregation will join in offering Thanksgiving for this union. A wedding cake will be offered in the parlor following the service.
On June 30 the first Union Service of the summer will be held at Centre Church, with First Congregational Church of West Brattleboro and Guilford Community Church also invited to be present. All are welcome. Fellowship hour follows worship.
The June special offering will benefit the Brattleboro Area Walk-In Clinic and Centre Church’s Wider Mission. The mission of the walk-in clinic, located at 81 Belmont Ave., is to provide primary medical and dental treatment for all who are uninsured, underinsured, or without access to medical care. It is run by volunteers on Tuesday evenings from 5:30 to 7, and has been in operation since 1993.
Centre Church is located at 193 Main St. and is a congregation of the United Church of Christ. For more information, contact the church office at 802-254-4730 or visit the website at www.centrechurchvt.org.
