HALIFAX CENTER -- Sunday’s evening service at the non-denominational Halifax Union Society will begin at 6:30 on Aug. 18. The meditation and reflection will be led by the Rev. Dr. Marcia Dorey.
There will be hymn singing. The Society’s annual meeting will be held Sunday, Aug. 25, at 5 p.m. and is open to all. The summer-ending potluck picnic will be held on the front lawn the following Sunday, Sept. 1, at 5 p.m. Those attending may bring something, but bringing yourself, family, and friends is number one. Everyone is welcome.
The Society is uphill from the town office and school in West Halifax. It is located in the oldest part of town, near the intersection of Jacksonville Stage and Stowe Mountain roads.
Services have been held there since 1891. In this week’s scripture parishioners are urged to follow Jesus. In Luke’s familiar vineyard parable we are asking God to save us. For information, e-mail HalifaxUnionSociety@gmail.com or call 802-368-2455.
