WEST BRATTLEBORO -- Aug. 18 is the 13th Sunday after Pentecost at First Congregational Church, United Church of Christ, 880 Western Ave. in West Brattleboro. The Rev. Joseph Amico will share a sermon called "Not Pretty!" based on Isaiah 1:1, 10-20.
Organist and pianist George Soulos will share a prelude of "Prelude in C Major" from W. T. C. by Johann Sebastian Bach, an offertory of "Andante" from the Pathetique Sonata by Ludwig Von Beethoven, and a postlude of "Allegro" by George Frederick Handel. The congregational hymns this week are "My Life Flows On," "O Day of God, Draw Near," and "Abide with Me; Fast Falls the Eventide."
Sunday worship at First Congregational Church is at 10 a.m. Following worship there is a Lemonade Hour. For those with disabilities, there is a ramp leading to the Fireplace Room level, as well as large-print hymnals and bulletins. For a ride to worship call 802-257-4408.
There is an ongoing collection of canned fruits and vegetables, pasta and sauces, peanut butter, tuna fish, and cereals for the Drop-In Center’s Food Shelf.
