WEST BRATTLEBORO -- All Souls Unitarian Universalist invites all to gather Sunday, Aug. 25, at 10 a.m. "The Joy in What We Do" will be the topic at All Souls by guest speaker Professor Meg Mott, who teaches political theory at Marlboro College. She will consider the difficulties many college students, and many adults, face with depression and anxiety and how Spinoza’s picture of God offers a way out.
Spinoza argues that all feelings are as natural as the law of gravity and that understanding them from the perspective of a divine nature creates its own kind of joy. Mott will consider how one can better design learning environments that accommodate the natural fluctuations in self-esteem.
Programs for children and youth are gearing up for September. RE Class registration materials can be found on the RE bulletin board in the All Souls office hallway. All Souls UU is a Welcoming Congregation and a Green Sanctuary located at 29 South St. across the road from the West Brattleboro Fire Station and Village Green. Nursery care is available.
