DUMMERSTON -- Worship at the Dummerston Congregational Church is at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 25. The church will welcome its new organist, Franz Robert (formerly Jon Matthew.) Franz is a 15-year-old jazz prodigy. Franz has been drawn to music since he was very little. He intuitively has known how to play various instruments from an early age.
Franz has studied under jazz pianist, J.C. Donelson, was classically trained by Vladimir Odinokikh, and is now training with Eugene Uman from the Vermont Jazz Center. He also works musically with Ned Phoenix, Mark Polifrone and various others, and has just completed the 5 Summer Program at Berklee School of Music. The choir, under the direction of Larrimore Crockett, will sing.
The scripture for the day is Ephesians 6:10-17 and the sermon is "The Panoply of God." The children’s story is "Letters and Epistles." Children will begin in worship and then go to an open classroom where they will continue their focus on Bible Basics.
