DUMMERSTON -- Worship at the Dummerston Congregational Church is at 9:30 a.m. This Sunday, Sept. 1, is a Communion Service. The scripture for the day is Ephesians 6: 18-24 and the mediation is "This is the Way, Walk In It." The children’s story is "Here’s the answer, what’s the question?" based on I Corinthians 11:18-24. Children will begin in worship and then go to an open classroom where they will continue their focus on Bible Basics. They will return to their families for communion, which they receive at the discretion of their parents.
The special offering for the day will go toward the mission trip to Kenya. The church has been given a lovely Hunter’s Star quilt by Jean Shaw which will be raffled to raise money for the mission trip to Kenya.
The Dummerston Church campout at Green Mountain Camp is planned for Saturday, Sept. 7, to Sunday, Sept. 8. The cost will be $25 for a family and $10 for singles. Registration is due by Wednesday, Sept. 4.
New member Billie Slade will be received Sept. 1.
The church continues its annual summer food drive for the Drop-In Center Food Pantry. The goal is 1,500 pounds of food staples, personal hygiene items and household goods. Church World Service School Kits and Clean-up Buckets are being collected.
