MARLBORO -- The final Marlboro Meeting House summer service will begin at 10 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 1. Pastor Heidi C. Heath of West Dover will lead. Her sermon will be "Entertaining Angels" based on Hebrews 13:1-8 and 15-16. Holy Communion will be celebrated.

Fred Gray will be organist and will also provide special music on guitar. The prelude will be "Ave Verum" by Charles Gounod. Hymns will include "For the Beauty of the Earth," "I Need Thee Every Hour," and "I Love to Tell the Story."

Andrea Howe and Gordon Kilby will sing a duet, accompanied by Faith Weisner on organ.

A chair is available for a ride upstairs. Refreshments and fellowship will follow the service. All are welcome.

A memorial service for Daniel K. Butler of Gwynedd, Pa., and Marlboro, will be held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. He passed away June 28, 2013. He summered for eight decades in Marlboro, where he met his wife of 60 years, Marigene Harrington Butler. His obituary was published in the Brattleboro Reformer on July 3, 2013. Co-officiates of the memorial service will be Pastor Heath, and a former minister, the Rev. Robert C. Hamm. A reception will follow the memorial service.

Marlboro Meeting House is located one-half mile from Route 9 on South Road, about eight miles between Brattleboro and Wilmington.
