BRATTLEBORO -- An all-church study course titled "God’s Surprises" will begin at Centre Congregational Church in downtown Brattleboro on Sunday, Sept. 29, and continue for five sessions through the end of October.
The course is being offered by Steve Peterson, retired college professor from Trinity College in Hartford, and will be a study of the issues and challenges the earliest Christians had to face, based on the Acts of the Apostles.
These sessions will be repeated on Mondays at 7:30 p.m. A sign-up sheet is on the church bulletin board for those who plan on attending.
Edie Clark, author, will read from her newest book "What There Was Not to Tell," at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, in the church parlor. The event is free and open to all. A percentage of her book sales will support the church general fund.
The Rev. Carra McFadden will lead worship at 10 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 22. All are welcome. A Leadership Retreat will be held at Hallelujah Farm from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28. The Fall Jumble Sale will be held Friday, Sept. 27, from 5 to 7 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 28, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
