GUILFORD -- The courage to act in the face of natural and human disaster will be the focus of the 10 a.m. worship service on Sunday, Sept. 29, at Guilford Community Church.
An original poem, "Saves the Foxes" by Josh Blauschild will be featured as part of the children’s story. Blauschild wrote the poem in response to the ongoing sermon series on Noah’s Ark. Scripture from Luke 16:19-31 and Luke 18:8-14 highlight Jesus’ emphasis on the responsibilities of the rich to rectify social inequities. The children of the Sunday School will continue learning about endangered species through song, art and story-telling.
The choir, under the leadership of Tony Barrand, will also offer two anthems, "Come Let Us Sing" and "In Your Arms."
Everyone is welcome. Nursery and childcare will also be provided.
Guilford Community Church is an Open and Affirming Congregation of the United Church of Christ and is fully-handicapped accessible and committed to providing ASL interpreter and hearing assistance, if given notice of interest ahead.
The church is located one mile south of exit 1 of Interstate 91 on Route 5, just in back of the Guilford Country Store. For information, call 802-257-2776 or visit at www.guilfordchurch.org.
