WEST BRATTLEBORO -- Oct. 20 is the 22nd Sunday after Pentecost at the United Church of Christ, 880 Western Ave. in West Brattleboro. Pastor Joseph Amico’s sermon will be "Surprising Gifts," based on 2 Thessalonians 2:1-5, 13-17. Organist and pianist George Soulos will share a prelude of "Aria Andantino" by Antonio Lotti and a postlude of "Allegro Vivace" from Sonata in G Major by G. B. Sammartini.
The choir will share an offertory of "God is My Song." The congregational hymns this week are "To God Compose a Song of Joy," "O Love That Wilt Not Let Me Go," and "I Come with Joy."
Sunday worship at First Congregational is at 10 a.m., preceded at 9 a.m. by the choir rehearsal. Following worship there is a coffee hour. There is an ongoing collection of canned fruits and vegetables, pasta and sauces, peanut butter, tuna fish, and cereals for the Drop-In Center’s Food Shelf.
