BRATTLEBORO -- The Rev. Carra McFadden will lead worship at 10 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 27, and her sermon is "All Strings Attached," based on the text from 2 Thessalonians 2: 13-17. Guest organist is Rob Couchon. Kindergarten through high school children will worship with the congregation, then after the Message for All Ages will depart to their club rooms for their own programs. Michael Mario is the director of Christian Education.
Silver Bells Sunday will be celebrated during worship, led by Marion Daley representing the Board for Member Care. It is reported that 91 individuals have served as members for 25 years or more, the newest being Mike and Julie Ball. All are welcome.
The Special Offering for October will benefit Neighbors in Need, which supports designated mission offerings of the United Church of Christ.
Plans for the upcoming Site and Bite Trip to El Salvador Nov. 9-16 are coming together. The visitors will provide eye and dental clinics to underserved area of that nation, according to organizer Jenifer Ambler.
The Harvest Luncheon and panel discussion will follow worship at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 3, as part of the church’s preparation to become an Open and Affirming Church. To help provide items for the potluck, a sign-up sheet is available on the bulletin board. Baked ham and beverages will be provided.
