DUMMERSTON -- Worship at the Dummerston Congregational Church is at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 27, begins a three-part series led by the Rev. Hal Harrison, Vermont Conference Minister Emeritus, and Ruth Kletnick, Jewish cantor, educator and songwriter.
Harrison and Kletnick have been studying scripture together as Christian and Jew for over four years. For these next three weeks, they will present the texts that have given them the most trouble.
Kletnick is a hospice chaplain for SoAmor Hospice of New Hampshire. She has been a Jewish cantor, educator and songwriter for 20 years. Harrison has been part of the Vermont Conference staff since 1976. He has been part of this church’s life in many ways for all those years.
Each week, they will read the scriptures and begin examining the texts during worship. After worship, they will continue the conversation parishioners.
Sunday’s text will be Genesis 16 and 21, introduction to Hagar and Sarah.
