DUMMERSTON -- Worship at the Dummerston Congregational Church begins at 9:30 a.m. on Communion Sunday, Nov. 3, and all who seek to follow Jesus are welcome to share in this sacrament of grace.
The special offering is for the Deacons Fund to help Dummerston neighbors in need. This fund has been heavily used and is nearly empty. The liturgy the All Saints Sunday will include prayers by Augustine and Frank von Christianson and a the poem "All Souls" by May Sarton. Once again, the preachers will be Rev. Hal Harrison, Conference Minister Emeritus, and Ruth Kletnick, Jewish cantor, educator and songwriter. This week they will present the story of the Sacrifice of Isaac from Genesis 21 and 22. After worship they will lead a discussion on the story. Music leadership will be provided by Franz Robert, organist.
The church’s semi-annual Caring and Sharing giveaway of clothing begins today from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and continues Monday through Wednesday. All in need are welcome to come and "shop for free." Donations of good, clean winter clothing and household goods may be left in the church. No children’s furniture or toys or electronic will be accepted.
