WEST BRATTLEBORO -- Jan. 5 is the Second Sunday after Christmas and Holy Communion at the First Congregational Church United Church of Christ, 880 Western Ave. in West Brattleboro. Pastor Joseph Amico will share a sermon entitled "What is This Thing Called Redemption?" based on Ephesians 1:3-14. Pianist Bill McKim will share a prelude of "How Brightly Shines the Morning Star" and a postlude "Fugue in C" both by Buxtehude. The choir will share an anthem of "The Memory of Christmas" by L. Larson. The congregational hymns this week are "Christ Is Made the Sure Foundation," "Holy, Holy, Holy," and "Blessed Assurance, Jesus Is Mine."

There is an on-going collection of canned fruits and vegetables, pasta and sauces, peanut butter, tuna fish, and cereals for the Drop-In Center’s Food Shelf.
