DUMMERSTON -- Worship at the Dummerston Congregational Church UCC in Dummerston Center begins at 10 a.m. on Sunday, March 30. Beginning next week, April 6, worship will start at 9:30 a.m.
This week the meditation will be "The Work of the Holy Spirit" based on teachings of Jesus in John 14-16. The Liturgy in Lent includes a confessional focus on the 12 Steps of AA, this week on Step 10: "Continued to take personal inventory, and when we were wrong, promptly admitted it."
Each Sunday until Palm Sunday is a Communion Sunday. Music leadership is provided by Franz Robert, organist. The children’s chorus will sing "The Bread We Eat Is Jesus’ Bread," by Walter Farquharson. After the Children’s story by Billie Slade, Church School Director, children will go to an open classroom where they continue their study of Children in the Bible with a focus on the Child Jesus.
All are invited after coffee hour to join in Bible Study of the scripture for April 6, John 15: 1-11.
Non-perishable foods, toiletries, household items, blankets, tents and tarps for the Drop-In Center may be left in the church entry.
The Dummerston Women’s Association is collecting Church World Service Hygiene Kits. The DWA provides the bag, towel, wash cloth and Band-Aids. Donors are asked to provide one wide-tooth comb, one nail clipper, one bath-size bar of soap in wrapper, one toothbrush in original packaging and $2 per kit for processing.
