NEWFANE -- The Fourth Sunday of Lent will be observed at the First Congregational Church of Newfane at 10 a.m. on Sunday, March 30. The title of the Rev. Robert Hamm’s sermon is "None So Blind" with the scripture reading from the Gospel of John, chapter 9, verses 1-13 and 28-38.

Congregational hymns are "You, Lord, Are Both Lamb and Shepherd," "There Is a Balm in Gilead" and "Christ is the World’s True Light." The choir will sing "The Old Rugged Cross" with Chris Gray and Dot Chabot singing a duet. The prelude "Alas! And Did My Savior Bleed" by Robert J. Hughes and the postlude "Andante E Maestoso" by P.I. Tschaikovsky, arranged by Steward Landon, both played by organist Martha LaMoria.

Events for the upcoming week include Al-Anon at 7:30 p.m. on Monday; Sew What’s at 5 p.m. Tuesday; Deacons meeting at 11 a.m., Trustees meeting at 6 p.m. and Church Council at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday; Bell rehearsal at 5 p.m. Thursday.
