WEST BRATTLEBORO -- The community is invited to an Ecumenical Good Friday Service on April 18 sponsored by the Brattleboro Area Interfaith Clergy Association.
The service will be held from noon to 3 p.m. at the First Congregational Church United Church of Christ, 880 Western Ave. in West Brattleboro. Members of the Brattleboro Area Interfaith Clergy Association will reflect on the Seven Last Words of Christ in 25 minute segments:
-- Noon, "Father, Forgive Them; For They Know Not What They Do" by the Rev. Phillip Wilson, St. Michael’s Episcopal Church.
-- 12:25 p.m., "Today You Will Be With Me In Paradise" by the Rev. Joseph Amico, First Congregational UCC.
-- 12:50 p.m., "Woman, Behold Your Son Š Behold Your Mother!" by the Rev. Cheryl Meachen, First United Methodist Church.
1:15 p.m., "My God, My God, Why Hast Thou Forsaken Me?" by Pastor Lise Sparrow, Guilford, Community UCC.
-- 1:40 p.m., "I Thirst" by the Rev. Susie Webster-Toleno, Congregational Church of Westminster West.
-- 2:05 p.m., "It Is Finished" by the Rev. Peggy Yingst, Trinity Lutheran.
-- 2:30 p.m., "Father, Into Thy Hands I Commit My Spirit" by the Rev. Mary Lindquist, St. Michael’s Episcopal Church.
The the Rev. Sandy Daly, Retreat Director, Hallelujah Farm and the Rev. Susanna Knox Griefen, Dummerston Congregational UCC will act as Liturgists. Organ music will be provided by Bill McKim and choir direction by Steve Rice and Peter Amidon. Worshippers are welcome to come and go during the planned intervals.
The church is partially handicapped accessible. All are welcome to join in the choir, just arrive for the 10:45 a.m. rehearsal.

WILMINGTON -- A special Good Friday Service will be held on April 18 at 7 p.m. at the Wilmington Baptist Church. Taking part in the service will be Linda Farrington, the Rev. Rick Gramlin, the Rev. Ellen Bailey, the Rev. Doug LaPlante and the Rev. Mark Herrick.
Performing musical selections will be the Rev. John Brigham, John and Liz Wheeler, Alan Bartlett, Jan Durfey’s Choir, and the Men’s Breakfast Choir. All are invited to attend.
