BRATTLEBORO -- The Brattleboro baseball team has been in an offensive slump. The Colonels used a handful of unearned runs to beat Mill River 5-2, before losing to Rutland 4-1 and losing to Amherst, Mass., 5-1.

"We’re really struggling offensively," said BUHS coach Chris Groeger, whose 3-5 Colonels will play at Burr and Burton on Tuesday.

Rob Heileman had one hit in each of those games for the Colonels. Brattleboro had a combined nine hits during that span, including two by Hunter Smith versus Rutland. But it was three double plays turned by Amherst that had the purple and white frustrated.

Dan Richardson, Jimmy Mills and Kassidi Ramirez all pitched well for BUHS in those recent games. Richardson fired a three-hitter versus Mill River, Mills walked zero when going the distance against Rutland, and Ramirez fanned five Amherst batters.
