WILMINGTON -- Colton Butler threw a no-hitter and her Twin Valley varsity softball team trumped Bellows Falls, 10-2, on Monday.
"She did a really good job on the mound. We played good defense and our pitcher did a really good job," said Wildcats coach Aaron Wood, whose team improved to 5-6 overall.
Butler fanned five, walked four, and both of the Bellows Falls runs were unearned. Murphy Hicks (3 K’s, 7 BB) suffered the loss.
Savannah Nesbitt led the Twin Valley attack with two hits and three runs batted in. Abby Putnam had a couple of doubles and two RBI’s, and Butler also drove in two runs.
Leland & Gray 6, Windsor 4
TOWNSHEND -- With her team trailing 4-0 midway through the fifth frame, Leland & Gray coach Tammy Claussen fired the Rebels up with a quick speech.
Emily Thibault led off with a double, Jordan Gouger drove in two runs with a single, and Jessi Stockwell added a two-run double as the Townshend team took a 5-4 advantage.
Elizabeth Symanski and Thibault each finished with two hits for the Rebels, who are on a three-game winning streak and have a 5-6 record. Rachel Borgesen also had one hit for the winners.
Symanski went the distance for the victory. She struck out five, walked one and scattered six hits.

Leland & Gray 0
TOWNSHEND -- Dal and Cade Nesbitt teamed up for a two-hit shutout and Colin Lozito went 3-for-4 at the dish to lead the Wildcats.
Josh Donna and Adam Beattie each had one hit for the 5-6 Rebels. Corey Nystrom, Jeremy Bovat and Owen Beattie took turns on the hill.
On Saturday, the Rebels lost to Woodstock, 8-6. Josh Donna fanned 10 in a losing effort, Owen Beattie drove in a pair of runs, and the Rebels got one RBI from both Ryan Borgesen and Donna.
