BRATTLEBORO -- Loralee Scott Conforti is the guest preacher at 10 a.m. worship Sunday, May 25, at Centre Congregational Church in downtown Brattleboro. Her sermon title is "What Difference Does a Girl Make?," based on the text from Romans 12:15-21. The Rev. Carra McFadden will lead worship.
Following the service a bake sale will be held to raise funds for the Kakamega Orphan Care Centre in Kenya. All are welcome.
Conforti has more than 20 years of leadership experience in church ministry and in non-profit administration. She is currently the executive director for the Assisi Institute and Artistic Director of Accendo Dance Company. Her most recent dance theater production tells the true story of a human trafficking victim as reported by Pulitzer Prize winning author Nicholas Kristoff in "Half the Sky."
Kidz Club meets during worship in the Riverside Room under the leadership of Michael Mario, Director of Christian Education. Christian Huebner is Director of Music and organist/choir director.
William McCarty was elected chairman of church council, and Jon Potter was elected vice-chairman, at the annual program meeting held May 18. Other officers and board and committee members were also elected.
