DUMMERSTON -- The annual Strawberry Supper of the Dummerston Congregational Church, held at the Grange across the road in Dummerston Center, will be held this evening from 5 to 7 p.m. The cost of the meal will be $10 for adults and $5 for those 12 and under. The supper is an all-you-can-eat meal, served family style, and is a fully home-cooked meal with cake-size shortcakes with real whipped cream and local berries. Sunday at the Dummerston Congregational Church, James Brown will preach on Prayer. The Scripture is from Matthew 6, Jesus’ teachings on prayer in the Sermon on the Mount.

Music leadership will be provided by Franz Robert, organist. The Children’s Story by Pastor Susanna Griefen will introduce the new summer program on Kenya. Children begin in worship and then go to an open classroom.

Alice’s Lunch Program begins this week. Dummerston families with school-age children who are eligible for reduced-priced or free school lunch are encouraged to call the church office to find out more about these twice monthly boxes of food for lunches. This is a Community Program supported by the Dummerston Church, the Dummerston Community Chest, the United Church of Christ and generous neighbors.

Worship begins at 9:30 a.m. The church is located in Dummerston Center at 1536 Middle Road. It is a Green Justice Congregation of the United Church of Christ.
