BUHS football practices to begin
BRATTLEBORO -- On Sunday, Aug. 10, the BUHS Football Staff will conduct an informational JV and Varsity Football meeting and equipment hand-out for the upcoming season. All potential candidates in Grades 10-12 and parents should attend this meeting, starting at noon in the BUHS Multi-Purpose Room.
Practices will begin on Monday, Aug. 11, with daily double sessions.
The morning practice will run from 8 to 10:30 a.m. and the afternoon practice will run from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

The Freshman team will begin practices beginning on Monday, Aug. 18. Incoming freshman and their parents are asked to attend in informational meeting and equipment hand-out on Thursday, Aug. 14, beginning at 6 p.m. in the BUHS Multi-Purpose Room.

Free gymnastic training clinic offered
WESTMINSTER -- Le Studio gymnastics is holding a two-day intensive training clinic for both recreational and competitive gymnasts of all levels. This training clinic will get everyone ready for the upcoming gymnastic season and is open to boys and girls.
Le Studio, now in its 35th year and the current club/coach of the year for USA Gymnastics of Vermont, is offering a one-of-a-kind intensive training clinic for gymnasts of all levels who want to sharpen their skills for the upcoming season.
The clinic, headed by Kathy St. Pierre and Brian Post, will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday, Aug. 12 and 13, from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each day.
"Athletes will work skills on all apparatus, as well as strength, flexibility and dance," said head coach Kathy St. Pierre. "We will also have some really special guest coaches, judges and dance teachers to make the groupings small and beneficial to all. Maci Prescott, the current level 9 National Vault champion and long-time gymnast of Le Studio, will be on hand on Wednesday to assist with vaulting technique."
In addition to the training, a healthy snack and lunch will be provided. Athletes should come with a water bottle.

BUHS field hockey, XC begins Aug. 18
BRATTLEBORO -- Practices for BUHS Field Hockey will begin on Monday, Aug. 18, from 4 to 6 p.m. on Tenney Field.
Candidates entering grades 9-12 are reminded to have their consent and concussion awareness forms signed and completed along with any necessary updated medical information.

CVPWFL and Flag Football signups
WESTMINSTER -- The Connecticut Valley Pee Wee Football League is entering its 47th year of football and will have its yearly signups and try-outs on Thursday, Aug. 7, and Tuesday, Aug. 12, both at 6 p.m., at the Bellows Falls Union High School.
Equipment issue will be held on Thursday, Aug. 14, at 6 p.m. Children must wear shorts, t-shirts and sneakers to try-out. It is open to the students entering third through eighth grade.
There is now a third-grade team. Grades four through six participate in Pee Wee Football; Grades seven and eight participate in the Junior High Program.
You must attend one of the signup nights to register and players already in the league must attend one of these dates as well, or make arrangements by calling Glenn Gendron, 603-398-6216, or Ed Vancor, 802-376-5902.
The are no weight limits. Every child is welcome.
Again this year, Flag Football will be offered for younger players. The age groups are 4-7 years old. Signups will be at the same time as Pee Wee Football.
The cost for Pee Wee and Junior High will be $40 per child.
The cost for Flag Football will be $15 per child.
