BRATTLEBORO -- Worship at First United Methodist Church on Sunday, Aug. 10, at 10 a.m. includes scripture from Genesis 37:1-4, 12-28, read by Ron Francis, where Joseph receives a coat of many colors. Bob and Linda Wentworth Barnes will sing "Blessed Be Your Name" as special music and lead the congregational singing.

The Rev. Cheryl Meachen’s sermon, "Hating Your Brother is the Pits!" will explore God’s love at work in the midst of complicated and contentious relationships. The monthly Wishing Well offering will be collected for a scholarship for Tobias Wiah of Liberia who hopes to continue attending SIT Graduate Institute.

The annual Blueberry Festival will be held at the church today, rain or shine. Festivities will begin at 7 a.m. with a family-style blueberry pancake breakfast until 10:30 a.m. The cost is $7. Hamburgers and hot dogs will be served for lunch at $5/$6 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event continues through 2:30 p.m. There will also be blueberry baked goods; crafts and live music from Michelle Pulver, The Otter River Band, and Johnnie Bubar.
