BRATTLEBORO >> Church World Service, an ecumenical branch of National Council of Churches, with the mission of aiding people who have been displaced, or victims of natural disasters, refugees, or economically challenged, is conducting the annual spring Church World Service Kit Program. These kits provide hope for tomorrow and make a world of difference in the lives of these people. Needed this year are school kits, hygiene kits, and emergency cleanup buckets.

Participating churches in the immediate area, are First Congregational Church, United Methodist Church, First Baptist Church, Townshend Community Church and Dummerston Community Church.

More information on the program can be obtained at kits@cwsglobal.org or www.cwskits.org. Locally, information can be obtained by contacting Sylvia Seitz at 802-257-4216.

These kits are assembled and readied to ship at the individual participating churches and brought to a designated center to be transported to the Second Congregational Church in Bennington, on Wednesday, May 4. Processing fees for shipping kits out from the Brethren Service Center remain the same — $2 per each school kit and each hygiene kit and $3 for each Clean Up Bucket.
