BRATTLEBORO -- Monadnock Speedway in Winchester, N.H., will celebrate Independence Day with Firecracker Night 100 on Saturday. The racing will begin at 6 p.m.
The Valenti Modified Racing Series will visit for the 100-lap feature race, led by points leaders Jon McKennedy and Rowan Pennink. Also competing in that series are Monadnock legends Jim Boniface and Todd Patnode.
The general admission prices on Saturday night are: $25 for adults, $15 for seniors, $5 for students (ages 13-18) and free for ages 12 and under.
Also on the card are races from the following series: Sportsman Modifieds, Super Stocks, Mini Stocks, Lightning Stocks and the Young Guns.
There are six area drivers in the Young Guns class, including Winchester, N.H., natives Joe Collins, Ethan Marsh, Chris Lawrence and Dylan Stebbins, Vernon’s Taylor King, and Ryan Shaw of Hinsdale, N.H.
Other locals in the mix are: Lightning Stocks -- Dick Houle (Brattleboro), Pat Houle (Vernon), Hillary Renaud (Vernon), Tim Leblanc (Winchester, N.H.) and Eric Silvernale (Winchester, N.H.). Mini Stocks -- Adam Manley (Putney), Joshua King (Hinsdale, N.H.), Mike Stebbins (Winchester, N.H.) and Gordon Farnum (Winchester, N.H.). Super Stocks -- Dana Shepard (Putney) and Stuard Wheelden (Guilford). And Sportsman Modifieds -- Jim Brow (Brattleboro).
