BENNINGTON -- Dan Petrie pitched a five-hit complete game to propel Brattleboro to win the Little League District 2 Championship Sunday afternoon in Bennington. Brattleboro jumped to 2-0 lead on a Tyler Germain fielders’ choice and an RBI single by Ian Fulton-Black. Bennington came back with one run on a single by Ty Galle followed by a Nate Coyne triple with no outs in the second, but Petrie stranded the runner at third. Brattleboro scored two runs in the third on a Tyler Germain base hit. Germain started the third two-run rally with a lead off single in the fifth, followed by Tom Carrol’s single and Ian Fulton-Black’s two-RBI single, to go into the last inning up 6-1.

Brattleboro finished with eight hits, two each from Leif Bigelow, Germain, and Fulton-Black. Brattleboro now moves on to host the Vermont State Little League Championship beginning on Saturday.
