BRATTLEBORO -- The Brattleboro, Stratton Mountain, and Springfield cross-country teams raced through driving rain and slippery mud on the BUHS course on East Orchard Street on Friday.

Stratton Mountain School won both the boys and the girls meets. Brattleboro placed second in the boys meet, but had an incomplete team on the girls side.

Spencer Olson paced the Colonel boys by taking fifth overall in 20:28, followed by sophomore Ryan Gilligan (21:21) who ran his best race of the season and took seventh. Arturo Gutierrez, Jon Burdo, and Graham Glennon also scored for the Colonels.

Catey Yost (24:20) led the BUHS girls with a strong fourth place finish in the girls race. Luci Hauty, Aliza Racine, and Dana Alexa also ran for the Colonels.
