JERICHO -- Jeff Estes and Tyler Hawley each scored in the last 10 minutes to help the No. 7 Mount Mansfield boys soccer team to a 3-1 victory over No. 10 Brattleboro in a Division 1 playdown on Tuesday.

"We had a couple of pretty good chances late," said BUHS coach Paul Sather. "I thought we played really well. We had a couple of injuries and another missing player, so we were playing without three starters. I’m proud of the way the kids who stepped in played."

Brandon Aguiar scored in the first 40 minutes to give the Cougars a 1-0 halftime lead. Brattleboro’s Sam Kochinskas buried the equalizer and it stayed deadlocked at 1-1 until the 10-minute mark.

Jackson Batchelder and Robin Avery both played well for the Colonels, according to Sather. The purple and white finished up with a 7-8 record.
