ORFORD -- The Twin Valley boys and girls basketball teams were swept by Rivendell on Friday night.
Nate Eastman scored 20 points to lead the Rivendell boys. Dal Nesbitt (23 points) and Sam Molner (12) had the hot hands for the Wildcats.
"We came out a little flat," said Twin Valley coach Chris Brown. "They lost in the Division 2 finals last season, but I don’t think that we played our best."
The 0-1 Wildcats will play at Proctor on Monday.
In the second half of the doubleheader, Rivendell’s Lacy Steber outscored Twin Valley by herself as she finished with 24 points to lead her team to a 52-23 rout.
"We are struggling mightily at the offensive end," noted Wildcats coach Buddy Hayford.
Twin Valley went 6-for-16 at the charity stripe and turned it over 18 times. Abbi Molner (8 points, 8 rebounds) and Jordan Niles (6 points) were their standouts.
The Wildcats (0-2) will play at Poultney on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.

LUDLOW -- Kendrick Mills and Mike LaBeau paced the winners with 14 and 12 points respectively. Eleven different players scored for the Terriers, who opened up a 29-6 lead in the first eight minutes. Bellows Falls will play at Springfield on Monday.
BRATTLEBORO -- In a pair of Brattleboro Recreation & Parks Department Division 3 men’s basketball contests, Vermont Pressure
Mike Dixon and Justin Gragen paced VPW with 24 and 21 points respectively, while Colby Bonnette followed with a dozen. Joe Pinger pumped in 11 to lead Member’s 1st.
Ryan Boyle drained six trifectas and racked up 32 points for SVP, which got 14 more from Chad Cutting and a dozen from Joel Porter. Nick Crafts (20 points) and Ian Boyd (10) had the hot hands for Farnum Cellulose.
BRECKENRIDGE, Col. -- West Dover’s Kelly Clark outscored Spain’s Queralt Catellet and Elena Height of California to win the Dew Tour snowboard pipe on Friday.
