BRATTLEBORO -- Local Sports Team and Cota & Cota/Brown Enterprises each won their respective Rec and Parks Division 1 basketball games, Friday at Gibson-Aiken.
LST took on Chad’s Team and pulled away for a 91-74 victory, with Kris Kachlemeyer throwing down 20 points (including a trio of 3’s), Adam F. chipping in with 18 points, and Seth Proctor adding 17. On Chad’s Team, Chris Dixon buried 25 points, while teammates Christian Corey had 23, and Eric Libardoni had 11.
In game 2, Cota & Cota/Brown Ent. burned Sporty’s/Lawton, 84-73, with Winston Sailsman leading the charge with 25 points. He was helped by Shawn Goodell (17 points), and Ben Johnson (16). Sporty’s/Lawtons’ Kyle Bauer also managed 25 points, with Brendon Smith finishing with 18 points on the afternoon. Sporty’s leads in the Division 1 standings with a 3-1 record, while Cota & Cota remain in second with a 2-1 record.
In Division 2 action Sunday, DMI stayed undefeated (4-0) with a 67-56 win over WB Maintenance.
Marshall Gilbert put away 20 points, all from inside the arc, to lead DMI in scoring, while teammates Todd Roach (14 points), and Ryan Powers (10) provided some additional pointage. Jeremy Werner and Kenny Howe scored 17 points apiece for WB.
Brattleboro Subaru Ford beat out Deerhill Inn/Fat City, 96-82, in Sunday’s first matchup, with Devon Manning scoring 26 points, and Shane Spive making four 3’s and 19 points.
Perra Law schooled The Marina, 102-66, as Rich Perra handled 25 points, Matt Rink went in for 21, and hot hands Dan Braden (18 points) and Jamie Garfield (17) carried their team to victory. Nick Rose led The Marina with 27 points, while Luke Overman had 14 points, and Amos Ireland took home 11.
Perra Law holds the second-place position in the Div. 2 standings with a 3-1 record.
GSP Coatings/Emerson’s, Member’s 1st Credit Union, and VT Pressure Wash & Paint, each inched out victories on Sunday in Division 3.
GSP barely got past Community High School of Vermont, 62-59, with Joe Hunt on the attack, who dropped in four 3’s and a trio of deuces for 18 points total. Greg Hecht led CHSVT with 21.
Member’s 1st picked up a 78-75 win over UNFI. Jeremy Felton scored 19 points, mostly from inside for Member’s, while Scott Edwards hustled in 27 points for the UNFI team.
Chris and Mike Dixon went away with 13 points each, forcing their opponents Rice Appraisal to fall, 63-58, to VT Pressure Wash. Patrick Lallo scored 17 points for Rice.
Basketball Joes lead 4-0 in the Div. 3 standings, with Walker Farm, VT Pressure Wash, and GSP/Emerson’s all tied for second with 3-1 records.
