SPRINGFIELD -- Terriers starter Mike LaBeau fanned a dozen, walked just one and fired a two-hitter in six innings of work. Chris Armstrong then pitched a scoreless seventh.
"Mike had done that since the spring began and he’s proven to be Mr. Consistent for us. He has given us a chance to win by the way he is pitching," stated Bellows Falls skipper Bob Lockerby, whose team opened up a 7-0 lead in the first frame.
The winners finished with eight hits, with Stewart Shaughnessy being the only player to get more than one. Lockerby said he’s hoping to see his players hit the ball harder, with more authority.
