SPRINGFIELD, MA -- Almost every Colonel scored a goal Friday night as the Brattleboro girls lacrosse team beat Cathedral, 16-2.
Maddie Rollins scored five goals and had one assist, Cassidy Stebbins had two goals and one assist, and Hannah Lynde had a pair of goals to lead the winners, but Lizzy Clarke (with two assists), Rachel Hill, Alex Fellows, Meghan Siggins, and Anna Gagnon-Burch each also put away a goal for Brattleboro.
The Colonels’ Meghan "T-Bone" Kinsman and Emily Lyons both scored their first goals ever on the varisty team.
"It was an amazing game," said BUHS coach Maud Lonergan. "We had great ball control on the possession."
Brattleboro goalies Gaia Uman and Melissa Semenovich each made five saves.
Derryfield 11, Hinsdale 2
HINSDALE, N.H. -- The Pacer boys can’t seem to get a win after taking their ninth loss of the season Friday afternoon versus visiting Derryfield.
Hunter Brooks took the loss, threw for five innings, gave up seven runs over six hits, and struckout four. The pitcher had a single and an RBI. Hinsdale’s Ben Kilelee went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI.
The Pacers will play at Newport on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
Hinsdale 14, Derryfield 2
HINSDALE, N.H. -- Skylar Bonnette had four hits, and Elise Atkins, Taylor Roberts, and Colleen Bedaw had three hits apiece to give the lady Pacers their sixth win of the season against Derryfield on Friday afternoon.
"We took charge early," said Hinsdale coach Terry Bonnette, whose team scored five runs in the second inning.
Bonnette threw seven strikeouts. Hinsdale’s Mackenzie Schultz and Bedaw blasted triples.
The 6-3 Pacers will host Sunapee on Monday at 4 p.m.
