BRATTLEBORO -- Michael Cioffi blazed along Upper Dummerston Road to win the one-mile Fun Run in a time of 5:31 on Wednesday. He was followed by Peyton Joslyn (11:21), Evie Kienle (12:16), Katherine Innis (12:17) and Paul Love (16:37).
The order of finish for the two-mile race was Celia Cota (19:38), Jace Joslyn (22:03) and Ellen Cota (25:05). Eric Evans won the 2.4-mile trail run in 21:11, John Duff was next in 23:19 and Doug Rogers placed third in 27:29.
The results of the three-miler look like this: Dan Barile (17:49), Clint Joslyn (18:43), Conor P. O’Donnell (20:43), John Majonen (20:46), Brian Lashway (22:43), Leo Schiff (22:45), Doug McCrae (23:49), Angella Joslyn (24:25), Scott Hamm (27:59) and Serge Pouliot (34:58).
VASSALBORO, Maine -- This year’s annual Tri-State Tournament will be held at Natanis Golf Course in Vassalboro, Maine on June 19 and 20. The tournament is a team competition among Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont with each state sending a 30-person team. The first day of the two-day competition is an alternate shot format with 2-person teams playing a three-way match with teams from the other states with a total of six points per match at stake. The second day of play is in the traditional individual match play format with each player playing for a maximum of six points. The team with the most points at the end of play is the winner. Vermont has won for the past three consecutive years.
WESTMINSTER -- Kurn Hattin Homes invites golfers of all skill levels to enjoy a fun day of golf, great food, contests and prizes while helping to improve the lives of children in need. The 22nd annual Kurn Hattin Golf Classic will be held Wednesday, July 17 at the Keene Country Club. The event benefits children at Kurn Hattin Homes in Westminster, a year-round home and school for boys and girls in need of temporary care as a result of family tragedy, or social or economic hardship.
Registration ($135/golfer) includes golf, cart, lunch, and dinner. There are three hole-in-one prizes: a 2013 Toyota Camry donated by Durand Toyota Ford, a $10,000 Certificate of Deposit donated by People’s United Bank, and a $5,000 gift certificate donated by MJ Harrington Jewelers. First, second, and third place tournament winners (gross and net) receive Pro Shop gift certificates for their whole team. Additional individual prizes include closest to pin and longest drive.
The day concludes with dinner and an auction, with items such as an all-inclusive trip to Puerto Rico, a Colorado ski resort package, a Boston Symphony Orchestra package, local dining and recreation packages, and more.
