FAIR HAVEN — The Brattleboro Union High School varsity boys basketball team was nipped by Fair Haven, 68-67, in their season opener.
"BUHS battled back from an 11-point deficit in the first quarter, but came up short in their opening contest," said Colonels coach Joe Rivers.
Dylan DeJordy scored 16 points to lead Brattleboro offensively. Dillon Green followed with 11 points of his own.
The 0-1 Colonels, who hosted MSJ on Monday night, will play at Leland & Gray on Friday at 7 p.m.

Kirra Courchesne had six points and 20 boards to lead the 0-1 Wildcats, who will play at Mid-Vermont Christian today at 5 p.m.

BRATTLEBORO >> Nate Williams had a night-high 37 points to lead Walker Farm past Green Mountain Creamery, 87-78, on Friday at the Gibson-Aiken Center. Rice Appraisal's Patrick Lallo pumped in 30 points during a 63-51 victory over G.S. Precision.
Jamal Arnald went off for a league-best 33 points in Sunday's action, in G.S. Precision's 71-68 loss to G.S. Coating.
Ryan Boyle made seven trifectas and finished with 32 points as Dixon's Painters pummeled FTSP, 96-64. The other top guns on Sunday were: FTSP's Matt Bristol (24 points), Jeremy Thomas (24) of Dixon's Painters, Pancake Design's Eric Pardee (23), Southern Vermont Painting's Joel Porter (21), Jim Gray (20) of Dixon's, and Procut Lawncare's Drew McDonell (19).
