WHITINGHAM >> The Twin Valley varsity girls basketball team dominated on the boards and romped Mid-Vermont Christian, 46-28, on Tuesday.

Tayler Courchesne (14 points, 9 rebounds) and Kirra Courchesne (12 points, 7 rebounds) powered the Wildcats. Kendell Howe followed with six points and six boards, Teya Johnson chipped in with eight rebounds and six assists, and Brianna Rafus pulled down seven caroms.

"We had a great night on the boards," said Twin Valley coach Buddy Hayford, whose team outrebounded MVC 39-23. "We only turned it over 13 times. That's impressive."

The 1-1 Wildcats will host Woodstock tonight at 7.

Women's Rec Basketball

BRATTLEBORO >> In Monday's action at the Gibson-Aiken Center, Houghton outscored Marina 56-50 and Chroma defeated Lawton's Floor Design 35-29.

Kate Margaitis (17 points), Bri Smith (15), Annie Holiday (11) and Anna Lashway (10) had the hot hands for Houghton, including five trifectas from Margaitis. Ashley Gomarlo went off for 16 points to pace Marina.

Mary Symonds pumped in a dozen points to lead Chroma, which is atop the Brattleboro women's league standings with a 2-0 record. Erin Elizabeth and Sam Bernard scored 10 and nine points respectively for Lawton's.
