HARWOOD >> Daniel McMahon had a hat trick and Declan Lonergan tallied twice as the Brattleboro Union High School varsity boys ice hockey team trounced Harwood, 6-1, on Saturday.

Bradley Fellows also lit the lamp for the Colonels, who took a 2-0 lead in the opening period and later outscored Harwood 3-0 in the third. Braxton Lynn and Fellows each ended up with a pair of assists.

"We got a great game out of (Nick) Perusse, bouncing back from his Rutland struggles," said BUHS coach Eric Libardoni, who added that Jakob Curtiss, Evan Perkins, Lynn and Fellows all had standout games all over the ice.

Perusse made 27 stops for the winners. Dean Touchette had 21 saves for 4-7 Harwood.

The 4-8 Colonels will play at Missisquoi Valley on Saturday.

HINSDALE, N.H. >> The Pacers pounded Derryfield, 51-23, on Friday evening at The Stable.

"We took charge early and never looked back," said Pacers coach Terry Bonnette. "Everyone played and everyone scored."


Skyler LeClair went off for 20 points to lead the victors. Jen Matuszewski followed with nine points.

The 6-2 Pacers will host Monadnock on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
