LUDLOW — Tayler Courchesne pumped in 15 points as the Twin Valley varsity girls basketball team rolled over Black River, 53-16, on Friday.

Kirra Courchesne (11 points, 8 rebounds) and Kendell Howe (11 points, 6 rebounds) also had huge games for the victors. Brianna Rafus contributed with eight points, 10 boards and seven steals.

Twin Valley jumped out to a 27-10 halftime lead and took a 44-14 advantage into the fourth quarter. Andrea Stevens and Alyssa Tourneau paced the hosts with four points each.

The 10-8 Wildcats will play at Bellows Falls tonight at 7.

Girls Basketball

HINSDALE, N.H. >> Hinsdale was routed by Sunapee, 74-31, on Friday evening at the Stable.

"They are a very good basketball team and we couldn't do much with them," said Hinsdale coach Terry Bonnette.

Jacqueline Atkins scored a team-high 10 points for the hosts. Gabby LeClair netted nine points and Sam Lynch followed with six of her own.

The 10-5 Pacers will play at Concord Christian tonight at 6:45.


BENNINGTON >> Bellows Falls competed in 25 matches during the Marble Valley League Jamboree at MAU and finished with a record of 14-11.

DJ Snide (195 pounds) went 5-1 on the day to lead the Terriers, including pins versus his foes from Fair Haven, MAU-B, Otter Valley, ConVal, and Mill River. He has now reached the 30-win mark on the season.


Lucas Saunders went 2-1, Charles Dolloph went 3-2, Brendan Kendall went 1-1, Garrett Waterman went 0-5, and Jake Lober ended up at 3-1.

Garrett Waterman and Austin Taylor will go to Spaulding on Saturday to compete in the JV state championships. The varsity state championships will be held at Mill River on Feb. 26-27.
